Speaking on the occasion, Raoul Iskandar, who is responsible for operations in Middle East, said that Amadeus, with 28.7 percent share in the world market, was serving over 60,000 travel agencies world-wide. In the last 10 years, Amadeus has been successful in establishing itself as the leading global distribution system (GDS) and technology service provider.
Amadeus' presence in Pakistan continued to grow through its partnership with Premier Aviation Services, which is part of the Akbar Group of Companies, said M I Akbar, President Akbar Group.
Earlier, H Zafar Ahmed, executive vice president of Premier Aviation Services, in his introductory remarks highlighted Amadeus Pakistan's performance and said that currently it is represented in 59 cities throughout Pakistan.
He said the number of installed terminals has grown by 32 percent while travel agency users increased over 22 percent, adding Pakistani travel agents will continue receiving the highest standard of service and the latest technology from Amadeus. Emmanuel le Ray, market product manager, and other officials of Amadeus and Premier Aviation Services also attended the function.
